GREETINGS DEAR FRIENDS
Wow! The Bhadra Collective had a great time on Feb. 15 at the Trane. It was packed and the dance floor was hopping from the first song. We're there again on March 15 - come on out and join the fun. See details below.
The event with David Hickey was also a blast. We'll be performing with him again up at his property, Crystal Acres, near Owen Sound on July 11. A concert in the moonlight. Stay tuned for more details - that promises to be a very special event.
Also, in this newsletter there is an article called A System of Systems, talking about the holographic nature of reality. As above, so below.
If you'd like to access past newsletters containing the ongoing articles on the Physics of Mysticism, Magic, the Power of Mantra and other topics, please visit the 'newsletter' page of my website, whyislife.com Peace and love, Dennis. |

A SYSTEM OF SYSTEMS by Dennis Gaumond
In the last newsletter we touched on the notion that all
aspects of reality can be thought of as manifestations of energy. These aspects
are organized into different 'systems' - a system being defined as 'a whole
consisting of an assemblage of parts'. Thus reality can be referred to as a 'system of systems'.
This concept is represented by the sacred geometrical symbol known as
the 'Flower of Life', and by the famous Hermetic quip, "As above, so below".
The universe is a large system made up of smaller systems, which in turn
contain smaller systems, and so on. These sub-systems are like holograms of the
larger systems, that is, they are organized in a similar way and have similar
characteristics. This 'system of systems' applies to all forms of energy, to
both physical and non-physical manifestations.
In the
physical, material realm we can think of a particle as a very small system.
Several particles together form a larger system - the atom, and several atoms
together form a molecule. Several molecules combined in just the right way form
a larger system, the living cell, which combine in various ways to form organs,
bones and other systems. The human body in its entirety is a system which, in
combination with other bodies, make other systems such as communities, nations,
races, etc. These sub-systems in turn come together to form the greater system
that is all of humanity. In terms of cosmic bodies, we can see that a planet is
a system and that several of them form a solar system. Many solar systems make
up a galaxy and many galaxies make up the physical universe.
The non-physical
universe also exists in this 'holographic' way. Consciousness exists as systems
within systems. One could say that every living cell has a type of
consciousness, as do each of the organs. They go about their business without
needing conscious 'orders from headquarters'. The consciousness of each of
these levels is separate, but it also is a part of the consciousness of the
greater system, in this case, the entire individual human being. Our individual
human consciousness is part of the collective human consciousness, which in
turn is part of a still larger collective. The various levels, the many systems
with their separate 'consciousnesses', exist as individuals but also as parts
within a greater whole. They are completely interrelated and interdependent.
The total of all expressions and manifestations of energy, the sum of all
consciousness is the unity, the oneness that we could refer to as God.
It is interesting to note that almost all cultures at
one time worshipped the sun, the moon or other cosmic bodies. They valued the
sun's ability to warm and nourish us, but further to this, there was a
recognition that the sun corresponds to a consciousness, the consciousness of
the solar system. This greater consciousness, this 'god', presides over and
contains our individual and collective consciousness. We are a part of it.
Other cosmic bodies, other 'gods', have also interacted with us. We are a part
of many levels of consciousness.
Many cultures over the ages have
referred in some way to the various levels of consciousness, sometimes as pantheons of gods
and spirits, sometimes as a hierarchy of angels. These angelic realms are larger systems,
greater levels of consciousness that contain the smaller levels. The sum total
of all of these angelic realms is the Source, the Creator, God.
(In the next newsletter we will
talk about these angelic realms.)
