GREETINGS DEAR FRIENDS
Hello friends. We have some exciting things to announce - after two years of hard work and collaboration we are launching an exciting new organization - the Canadian Association of Sound Practitioners (CASP). If you are interested in learning more and/or in becoming a member, please visit casp.com . We are celebrating with an exciting event on June 5 in Toronto. Read more in the sections below.
With the release of the
movie 'Angels and Demons' by Dan Brown and with some of the wealthiest
institutions being 'bailed out' by taxpayer money, I thought it would be timely
to take a brief look at some of the ways that the 'power elite' seeks to
control and manipulate us. The next few newsletters will deal with this topic
as well as the notion that ruling elites throughout the ages have been well aware of such concepts as the power of
consciousness, magic, the law of attraction, etc. This month we'll look at
something that I call Machiavellian controlling devices. If you'd like to access past newsletters containing the ongoing articles on the Physics of Mysticism, Magic, the Power of Mantra and other topics, please visit the 'newsletter' page of my website: whyislife.com Peace and love, Dennis. |

MACHIAVELLIAN CONTROLLING DEVICES
by Dennis Gaumond
With the release of the
movie 'Angels and Demons' by Dan Brown and with some of the wealthiest
institutions being 'bailed out' by taxpayer money, I thought it would be timely
to take a brief look at some of the ways that the 'power elite' seeks to
control and manipulate us. The next few newsletters will deal with this topic
as well as the notion that ruling elites throughout the ages have been well aware of such concepts as the power of
consciousness, magic, the law of attraction, etc. This month we'll look at
something that I call Machiavellian controlling devices.
In 1513 AD, a political philosopher named Niccolo
Machiavelli wrote 'The Prince', 'Discourses on Livy' and other books that discuss
the most efficient methods by which a ruler could acquire and maintain power.
These methods are often cunning and underhanded, devoid of ethics or morality. Although
there is controversy over the true meaning of these works, the adjective,
'Machiavellian', has evolved to describe any ruthless and deceitful means by
which a ruler has maintained control and power over the masses.
It is easy to see how these methods have been
employed throughout the ages. It is also easy to see such a list of controlling
devices at work today, diverting attention from the real enemy and keeping the
majority from taking power away from the elite few. A list of points of advice
given to some ruling elite could read as follows:
-
keep factions of the populace fighting amongst themselves; emphasize the
differences rather than the similarities between belief systems and ideologies.
-
keep the masses in a state of fear - terrified people are easy to manipulate
-
keep the masses impoverished, focused on the struggle to make a living.
- prevent the masses from recognizing the real sources of their
problems by constantly creating 'red herrings' and directing their attention away
from important concerns.
- keep them in poor health.
- promote values
and standards that keep the masses too busy to see clearly.
-
stay out of sight; have puppets and fall-guys to do your dirty work.
-
profit by creating problems and then profit by selling the solutions.
-
control the way people think by promoting certain mindsets, ideologies and
bodies of 'knowledge'. Discourage anything that questions such doctrine.
-
retain control of the machinery that dispenses information, i.e. the media, the
education system, etc.
The list could go on and on. If explanations and
examples embellished each of these points, this little blurb could easily
become a very long book. In this day of processed information, spin doctors,
greedy corporations and corrupt politicians, it is important to challenge
whatever the media wants us to believe. There exist many corporate think tanks
where very bright people are paid to sit around and conjure up some very clever
strategies for advancing the corporate agenda. In my opinion, however, the
masses are also becoming much more clever and resourceful. I believe that we
are seeing more clearly now than we have in thousands of years. This trend will
continue. |
